A report of a second Montauk Monster washing up on a Southold beach has conjured memories of the strange finding on the East End last summer.

On Wednesday May 5th 2009 a couple e-mailed Nicky Papers the founder of http://www.montauk-monster.com/ and after some phone calls the groupe headed to the location in Southold, NY on the Bay Area were the monster was located. They said the creature smelled like a mix of low-tide and rotten garbage, something that I can not imagen.

After all of this the couple have taken the monster home in garbage bags. They have being corresponded numerous times and have agreed that for the remainder of the week, to keep this matter to themselves. The remains are currently located in Southold in a cooler full of ice. They haven’t alerted the authorities.

Also, This creature came from the beach were alot of people go and fish feed, Its possible the water are contaminated.
A diseased carcass floating in waterways around Long Island could be infecting the water, fish, etc. We still need to remember that Plum Island is where Lyme Disease originated, it’s really not too far fetched to believe that this carcass (if from Plum Island) could be carrying bacteria or disease.

In America today, there are almost as many people making their living
as bloggers as there are lawyers. Already more Americans are making
their primary income from posting their opinions than Americans working
as computer programmers or firefighters.

The best studies we can find say we are a nation of over 20 million bloggers, with 1.7 million profiting from the work, and 452,000 of those using blogging as their primary source of income.
That’s almost 2 million Americans getting paid by the word, the post,
or the click — whether on their site or someone else’s. And that’s
nearly half a million of whom it can be said, as Bob Dylan did of
Hurricane Carter: “It’s my work he’d say, I do it for pay.”

All this fits with the trend toward Opinion TV. Less and less of our
information flow is devoted to gathering facts, and more and more is
going toward popularizing opinion. Twenty-four-hour news channels have
been replaced by 24-hour opinion channels. The chatter is the story.

Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics

Demographically, bloggers are extremely well educated: three out of every four are college graduates. Most are white males reporting above-average incomes. One out of three young people reports blogging, but bloggers who do it for a living successfully are 2% of bloggers overall. It takes about 100,000 unique visitors a month to generate an income of $75,000 a year. Bloggers can get $75 to $200 for a good post, and some even serve as “spokesbloggers” — paid by advertisers to blog about products.
As a job with zero commuting, blogging could be one of the most
environmentally friendly jobs around — but it can also be quite
profitable. For sites at the top, the returns can be substantial. At
some point the value of the Huffington Post will no doubt pass the
value of the Washington Post.

Pros who work for companies are typically paid $45,000 to $90,000 a year for their blogging. One percent make over $200,000. And they report long hours — 50 to 60 hours a week.

As bloggers have increased in numbers, the number of journalists has significantly declined. In Washington alone,
there are now 79% fewer DC-based employees of major newspapers than
there were just few years ago. At the same time, Washington is easily
the most blogged-about city in America, if not the world.

And with millions of human-hours now going into writing and recording
opinion, we have to wonder whether being the blogging capital of the
world will help America compete in the global economy. Maybe all this
self-criticism will propel us forward by putting us on the right track
and helping us choose the right products. Maybe it will create a
resurgence in the art of writing and writing courses. Or serve as a
safety net for out of work professionals in the crisis. But for how
long can nearly 500,000 people who are gradually replacing whole swaths
of journalists survive with no worker protections, no enforced ethics
codes, limited standards, and, for most , no formal training? Even the
“Wild West” eventually became just the “West.”

America’s Newest Profession: Blogging – Mark Penn, WSJ.com – WSJ.com

We’ve seen a few other 3G-capable handsets from other manufacturers that are capable of doing video calls, so it only makes sense that Cupertino would consider the inclusion of this feature as well.Looking at the patent filing by Apple, the new iPhone will apparently boast a front-mounted camera that could be used for video telephony. The hardware is simple and inexpensive enough to implement, but it’s the software that makes this leak a little more interesting. In the patent, we hear about a new morphing interface that adapts to the motion of the user. What does this mean? If you happen to be bouncing along on a rocky bus, the icons on the screen may grow a little bigger so that they are easier for you to tap. I wonder if this could also be used for anti-shake functionality for the video calls too.To make matters even more interesting, what if Apple was able to set up a seamless video conversation between an iPhone and a desktop-based iChat user? Would AT&T allow such a configuration?

Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg took advantage of a recent chat with the Wall Street Journal to talk a bit about Apple. Seidenberg said that Apple never wanted to make a version of the iPhone for Verizon’s CDMA network, since it wouldn’t be able to be as widely distributed as the GSM-based models it eventually produced. Uh, yeah, Ivan, thanks for joining the rest of us over here in the nation of Duh.Mr. Seidenberg also addressed the notion of Apple Inc.’s iPhone ever coming to the Verizon Wireless network, saying it is more likely that Apple would be willing to work with the carrier under the fourth-generation, or 4G, network, which follows the same technology standard as AT&T Inc.’s 4G plans.

That technology, which we’ve discussed before, is called LTE and is the next step along the GSM standard after the current 3G incarnation. Among U.S. providers, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon will all be transitioning to LTE for their 4G networks, a process expected to happen over the next few years.

Rival Sprint is meanwhile planning on using a version of the WiMax standard for its next-generation infrastructure. This shows a bit of a softening towards Cupertino on the part of the Verizon CEO. Back in June 2008, he told the Financial Times that “Steve Jobs will eventually get old,” adding that Apple was still a small player in the mobile industry and the iPhone was unlikely to become a mass-market hit.Of course, that was right around the launch of the iPhone 3G. Several million handset sales later, perhaps Seidenberg is rethinking his dessert plans, and eyeing a piece of that sweet Apple pie.

Sony’s HDR-TG5V Handycam shoots HD and tells you where you shot it… nifty for family vacations.

The HDR-TG5V is the evolution of the Sony HDR-TG1, and it certainly sounds like a premium device. It features a titaniumframe, LCD touch interface and shoots 1920×1080 video (10X optical zoom) along with 4MP stills (face detection included). AVCHD video is recorded to 16GB of internal storage along with GPS coordinates should you want to track your adventures. This camera is great for Blogers or people who like to upload video on youtube.

But as CNET points out, there’s no GPS metadata standard in AVCHD, so the information can only be sewn to your videos through proprietary software. That’s not Sony’s fault, but it does make their camcorder’s main new feature a bit less appealing.

If you’re interested, you can look for the HDR-TG5V this May for “about $1000.”

For more Info.

Do you think Microsoft should use $11 million in stimulus money “your tax money” to build a bridge connecting its West campus to its East campus?

I don’t think so, so why the government letting Microsoft do this?

$11 million of the $36 million bridge is going to be paid for by federal stimulus, whereas the other 17.5 will be paid by Microsoft. In Microsoft’s defense, they say that the bridge will be open to the public. On the other hand, who in the public is going to use a bridge that takes you from Microsoft’s technical buildings to its retail buildings?

In my opinion this stimulus plan should have more control over how is the money is used.
This is like AIG giving BONUSES just because.
